I have experience working at Kenya Forestry Research Institute and Kenya Medical Research Institute in Biotechnology department and Center for Biotechnology Research and Development departments respectively and also at Walter reed project (CVR/VHF Laboratory). At KEFRI I was able to acquire hands-on experience in applied forest genetics using molecular marker techniques, tree tissue culture, microsymbionts besides gaining practical skills in general microbiology. At KEMRI I underwent rigorous practical experience in DNA/RNA extraction and isolation methods, use of PCR based techniques, serological assays and cell culture. Additionally,I learnt on Bio-safety and Bioethics in research.
