Dr. Issiaka Soulama is a researcher at the Institute for Research in Health Sciences (IRSS), technical department of the National Center for Technical and Technological Research (CNRST). He holds a State Doctorate in Pharmacy, a PhD in Molecular Parasitology obtained at the University of Ouagadougou, and a certificate in genetics and genomics obtained at Stanford University in the United States of America. Dr Issiaka SOULAMA works in the field of molecular interaction between humans and pathogens at the Institute for Research in Health Sciences (IRSS)/National Center for Scientific and Technological Research (CNRST) and at the Center for Research and Training on Malaria (CNRFP) of the National Institute of Public Health as an associate researcher.
He has been a co-investigator, coordinator and principal investigator in various clinical studies in Burkina Faso since 2003.
Since his single thesis doctorate in 2010 in molecular parasitology, Dr. Soulama has had the opportunity to follow training courses in various American institutes including the Broad Institute and Harvard University on malaria genomics as a bridge between clinical trials and basic science.
 
He also had the opportunity to regularly participate in various summer seminars on genetic statistics at New York University in Abu Dhabi.
 
He is the author and co-author of around a hundred scientific publications, he is an expert and sits on the scientific committees of several national and international structures including the American Society of Tropical Medicine (ASTMH), the African Research Excellence Fund (AREF), the Institutional Ethics Committee of the National Institute of Public Health.
 
Dr Issiaka Soulama was Secretary General of the National Order of Pharmacists of Burkina Faso.
 
He is a reviewer in various peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Issiaka SOULAMA is a lecturer in molecular biology at the University of Ouagadougou and Nazi Boni University in Burkina Faso. He is a member of the bioinformatics platform of Burkina Faso.
Dr. Issiaka SOULAMA is currently the Director General of the National Agency for Pharmaceutical Regulation in Burkina Faso (ANRP).
