DELGEME at the 2 nd annual meeting of DELTAS Africa in Accra, Ghana
The leading scientists from DELTAS Africa met from 3 to 5 July 2017 in Accra, Ghana.
They came from 54 universities, institutes and research centers in 21 African countries, of which Mali was represented by the University of Sciences, Techniques and Technologies of Bamako (USTTB) by the Director of Excellence in Leadership Development, Training and Science in Africa (DELGEME), Professor Abdoulaye Djimde. The framework that brought them together is the annual meeting of the Development Excellence in Leadership, Training and Science (DELTAS Africa) program. DELTAS Africa is an ambitious initiative launched in 2015 for a period of 5 years.
The participation of DELGEME is located at 2 levels:
- Presentations,
- Training.
The objective of the first two days was devoted to the presentations of the 11 programs, of which the Director of DELGEME, Professor Abdoulaye Djimde, unpacked by giving an update on the progress of the DELGEME program with 34 fellows recruited for the different academy levels: Intern, Master, PhD, and Post-Doctoral. This presentation allowed the participants to be informed on the DELGEME consortium. The Director was accompanied by Eniyou, Post-Doctoral fellow, who also presented her project progress.
- The training of Managers,
- Training of programs communication officers.
The 3rd day focused on oral presentations of DELTAS Africa and Indian Alliance fellows holders. During the presentation, Dinkorma Ouologueme, DELGEME Post-Doc Fellow, was selected as the 2nd best oral communicator at the Farewell Dinner during closing ceremonies.
The next DELTAS grantees meeting is planned for 2018 in South Africa.
