Participation of DELGEME Plus in the 20th FESPAO Conference – Mali 2025

From September 23 to 29, 2025, the Federation of Pharmacy Students of West Africa (FESPAO) gathered in Bamako pharmacy students from Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Niger, Senegal, Togo and Mali.
This meeting aimed to promote training, scientific research and regional cooperation.
An Edition Dedicated to Professor Abdoulaye Djimdé
For this 20th edition, FESPAO paid tribute to Professor Abdoulaye Djimdé by placing the event under the theme:
“Antimicrobial Resistance in West Africa: Raising Awareness, Taking Action and Promoting Efforts to Preserve the Effectiveness of Antimicrobials.”It was a great honor for DELGEME Plus to participate in this gathering, to encourage research, to support young pharmacists and to contribute to the fight against antimicrobial resistance.
A Major Scientific and Cultural Gathering

The conference brought together more than 350 participants including students, PhD holders and pharmaceutical professionals.
It featured conferences, panel discussions, oral presentations, as well as social and cultural activities that fostered academic excellence, inter-student solidarity and sub-regional integration.
The opening ceremony was held in the presence of the representative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Rector of USTTB, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, the President of the Order of Pharmacists of Mali (patron of the event), the event’s sponsor, Professor Abdoulaye Djimdé (the honoree), the President of FESPAO and many other distinguished figures from the pharmaceutical sector.
Contribution of DELGEME Plus
During the conference, the DELGEME Plus program showcased several students from the first and second cohorts of its Master’s program dedicated to Antimicrobial Resistance, with the goal of raising awareness and encouraging new enrollments.
A presentation video featuring five Master’s students highlighted their academic journeys and experiences within the program.
Professor Ibrahim Guindo, member of the DELGEME Plus Project Management Board (PMB), delivered a presentation on antimicrobial resistance and advocated for the integration of this Master’s program into academic curricula. His talk generated strong interest among the audience. In his remarks, Professor Abdoulaye Djimdé praised the students’ commitment, encouraged them and reaffirmed his readiness to support their scientific and professional initiatives. He also gave a scientific presentation on antimicrobial resistance.


Exhibition Booth
Managed by the Communications Officer, the DELGEME Plus booth attracted significant attention. Many students expressed great interest in the Master’s in Antimicrobial Resistance.
Additional information was provided and exchanges with visitors were rich and interactive.
