Visit of the new Rector of the University of Sciences, Technique and Technologies of Bamako (USTTB)

On August 5, 2019, DELGEME proudly welcomed the new Rector of the University of Sciences, Technique and Technologies of Bamako (USTTB), Prof. Ouateini Diallo in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Odontostomatology, Pr. Seydou Doumbia, DELGEME Director, Pr. Abdoulaye Djimdé, USTTB External Relations Officer, Pr. Mahamadou Diakité, The Chair of the DELGEME Programme Management Board (PMB), Pr. William Yavo, The DELGEME Summer Course Coordinator, Dr. Oumou Maiga-Ascofaré, the facilitators present at the training, Dr. Anita Ganshan and Dr. Rhoel Dinglasan.

This visit coincided with one of DELGEME’s main activities, entitled “Summer Course”, which activity brings together all the Master’s, PhD and Post-Doc fellows of the programme in Bamako, where the DELGEME Lead Office is located. This is the third session of this type and the Program believes that this is one of the main aspects of its missions, to train African researchers of tomorrow.

All participants took the opportunity to congratulate Professor Diallo for his appointment as the new Rector of the University of Sciences, Technique and Technologies of Bamako.

After the welcoming words of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, a presentation of the programme was made by the DELGEME Program Director, which allowed updating the participants on the achievements.

This presentation was followed by questions and answers. The Rector welcomed the participants and reassured them about his full support toward the programme.

The ceremony ended with the giving of a symbolic present to the Rector by Professor William Yavo.
