DELGEME Plus Celebrates the Graduation of the First Cohort of the Master’s Programme in Antimicrobial Resistance
The training of a new generation of African scientists has reached an important milestone.
DELGEME Plus was honoured to organize the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of the Master’s Programme in Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), held at the University of Sciences, Techniques and Technologies of Bamako (USTTB), in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Rector of USTTB, the Deans of the Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy, as well as numerous academics, researchers, partners and family members of the graduates.
This ceremony marks the culmination of several years of dedication, training, and commitment by DELGEME Plus students from different African countries, united by a common goal: contributing to the fight against antimicrobial resistance, one of the most pressing public health challenges of the 21st century.
Implemented by DELGEME Plus as part of its mission to strengthen scientific capacity across Africa, this Master’s programme aims to train professionals capable of addressing the growing challenges associated with the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance through research, innovation and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Throughout their training, the students acquired advanced skills in areas such as microbiology, genomics, epidemiology, antimicrobial resistance surveillance and health data analysis. They now represent a new generation of experts ready to contribute to the development of evidence-based solutions to protect the health of African populations.
In his remarks, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research emphasized the critical role of research and education in the sustainable development of nations, while commending DELGEME Plus and its partners for their efforts in training the continent’s future scientific leaders.
For DELGEME Plus, this first graduating class represents a major milestone in achieving its mission: promoting scientific excellence, strengthening research capacity and supporting the emergence of African leaders capable of addressing tomorrow’s health challenges.
We extend our warmest congratulations to all graduates of this first cohort. Their journey reflects their determination, resilience and commitment to improving public health across Africa.
