DELGEME Plus Students at the Heart of Scientific Discussions During the SOMARAM 2026 Congress
The congress of the Malian Society for Antimicrobial Resistance (SOMARAM) was held from April 22 to 24, 2026 at the Hôtel de l’Amitié in Bamako, under the major theme of combating antimicrobial resistance in Mali, a global public health challenge.
This important scientific gathering brought together professors, researchers, healthcare professionals and students to share their experiences and present their research work. The program featured conferences led by renowned experts, as well as oral presentations delivered by lecturers, young researchers and students from various academic institutions.
Master’s students in RAM and DELGEME Plus PhD fellows, including Fatoumata and Willy, actively participated in these scientific exchanges by presenting their research findings and contributing to discussions on issues related to antimicrobial resistance. Their commitment reflects the quality of the training provided and the dynamism of this new generation of African scientists dedicated to addressing major public health challenges.
Beyond the scientific presentations, the congress served as a valuable platform for learning, collaboration and networking. DELGEME Plus participants had the opportunity to engage with national and international experts, discover new research approaches and strengthen their connections with the scientific community committed to fighting antimicrobial resistance in Africa.
